Books published in Canada

Here are the two books that I've published in Canada. There are probably 3 or 4 more that were published, but I didn't find much value in them, especially since they often continue to promote the American application of the concept as opposed to the Canadian application. If you'd like to discuss one of these other books with me, please don't hesitate to reach out and we can talk about them. If you've found one that you feel was very beneficial, please let me know, and I'll read it myself, if I haven't done so already.

This book was published by Antoine Rempp, Douglas Guest and Chase Chandler in December 2015.

Since this is one of the two books I’ve published, you can find more info about them in the section Resources.

This book was published by Antoine Rempp, Douglas Guest and Kim Butler in January 2016.

Minimize your Taxes

Since this is the second book I published, you can find more information about it under the section Resources.

Books published in the States

Nelson Nash is the first one to publish a book about the IBC. Following his masterpiece, multiple authors published their books on the same concept, but with emphasis on certain areas. There are many books on it, so I've selected the ones I enjoyed the most here. I caution you though to remember that while it is good to read these resources to familiarize yourself with the concept, the American and Canadian applications of the concept are different.

This book was published by Nelson Nash, in January 2009.

Summary of the book

Becoming Your Own Banker® (BYOB®) is the book that started it all for me. This is Nelson’s first book, and it is the one that revolutionized the industry.

While Nelson had been using and implementing the concept for over 30 years before publishing this book, this book has quickly become a best seller soon after he first released it over 10 years ago.

Some people have a hard time getting through it though, especially those who don’t really care that much about numbers. Some other book slike Dwayne’s or Chase’s might be easier to break into to start with.

My two cents…

Being an Engineer, I love numbers, and that book definitely gave me what I was looking for. Lots of illustrations that go very deep in details in the numbers, lots of scenarios.

If you manage to read through it, probably more than once to really get it all, I just want to make it very clear that this is completely the american application of the concept. He goes in very detail on how to set it up, it doesn’t work exactly the same here in Canada, since our tax laws and the products we have access to here don’t work the same as south of the border.

This book was published by Dwayne Burnell, in January 2010.

Summary of the book

A Path to Financial Peace of Mind by Dwayne Burnell is one of my top 4! Dwayne is a student of Nelson, he too discovered the concept through BYOB, and embraced it!

He published two books that both are simply amazing. Very well illustrated, very easy to understand, his two books are a must read.

This is actually the second book I read on IBC®, right after BYOB.

Simple caution, some of the strategies here again are applicable in the States and differ a little bit from what can be done here in Canada (like all the other books in the list). But the concept is made very easy to follow, if you don’t get excited after reading this book, then I can’d to anything for you ;-).

My two cents…

Dwayne’s two books are some of my favorites on the topic.

This book was published by Jeff Mendenhall, in June 2012.

Summary of the book

Your Economic Destiny is also one of my top 4!

As it says on the cover: if everything you thought to be true about money turned out not to be true, when would you want to know about it?

Think about it!

Another good way to look at it: the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is now.

If you’re a Christian, and are willing to learn how to handle money God’sway, that book is a must read. Writing about it just gets me excited again, I think I might have to read once more now, can’t get enough of it.

My two cents…

Being a Christian myself, I really enjoyed this book as it offers an great overview of IBC® within a Christian financial planning approach. Writing about it just gets me excited again, I think I might have to read once more now, can’t get enough of it.

Same measure of caution, this is a book about the American application of the concept, we have some differences in our application here in Canada.

(not available on Amazon.ca, you need to purchase on Amazon.com)

This book was published by Dwayne Burnell, in June 2012.

Summary of the book

Financial Independence in the 21st Century by Dwayne Burnell is just as good as his first book!

While he describes in great detail one case study in his first book, and how IBC® can be used for financing car purchases, wedding, education, retirement and wealth transfer, this second book offers more scenarios for different background and family situations.

You’ll probably want to read his two books a few times to get all the knowledge out of them. Definitely a must read!

My two cents…

Dwayne’s two books are some of my favorites on the topic. But again, same caution, the numbers on the insurance side are based on illustrations offered by companies in the States, our Canadian illustrations differ a little.

But the concept is the same, and this book makes it very easy to understand.

This book is the first one that Pamela Yellen published on the IBC concept originally developed by Nelson Nash. It was published back in March 2010.

Summary of the book

Bank On Yourself (BOY) by Pamela Yellen is actually the third book I read when I started my journey about IBC®.

It’s right up there with my top 4! Pamela discovered the concept through Nelson’s book, and saw right away how powerful the concept was, and why it should be shared with the world.

Marketing guru, she pretty much did share it with the world, through her huge website (www.bankonyourself.com) that has tons of content and videos and information about the concept and its applications.

I completed her advisor’s training program back in 2012, and I recommend it to any advisor who is interested in introducing the concept to their clients. As opposed to Nelson’s or Dwayne’s books, BOY doesn’t have one illustration in it.

Lots of stories of how the concept can help families from all background though.

My two cents…

Pamela has developed a network of advisors both in the States, and in Canada. The canadian salesforce however uses one of the company that I believe has restrictions that could affect your ability to access the money inside the policy in the later years. If you’re contemplating implementing a policy with the Canadian arm of BOY, I encourage you to reach out for a second opinion.

This book was published by Carlos Lara and Robert Murphy, in January 2016.

Summary of the book

The Great Wall Street Retirement Scam by Rick Bueter is a great read for those of you who still believe that the stock market is the best place to invest your money.

Short enough to read in a few hours, this book easily explains how the market and Wall Street have fooled so many people for decades now.

The mutual fund industry is very misleading, and Rick’s book hopefully will help you understand why all the authors who published books on IBC found it such a better alternative.

My two cents…

Here again, it is up to you to look after your best interest. If you believe your mutual funds advisor, that book might show you just how risky that approach is. Definitely a must read, especially as it can be read so quickly.

This book was published by Pamela Yellen, and updated in March 2016.

Summary of the book

The Bank On Yourself Revolution is Pamela Yellen’s second book.

It is a great addition to the collection, that book covers IBC® and the the alternatives that are offered by the financial industry.

Lots of great nuggets to find in this book, lots of “truths” about Wall Street exposed by Pamela. Little downfall is the length of the book, but if you can find the time to read it, it definitely will provide some great insight and illustrations on IBC® and why it is the best financial tool out there towards financial control.

This book was published by Carlos Lara and Robert Murphy, in January 2016.

Summary of the book

“How Privatized Banking Really Works”  is an excellent book about banking industry, and the explanation of inflation.

This book provides an insight on the powerful combination of Austrian Economics, the Sound Money Solution, and Privatized Banking, as described by Nelson’s Infinite Banking Concept® in his first book “Becoming Your Own Banker”.

It is amazing how Cesar and his Roman Empire was affected by inflation that generated from “printing his own money”.
